How Satyap works
Satyap does three things: it verifies the person, verifies the business, and maps the ownership between them. One login for you, one Satyap for each business, and a mapped link for every business you own or run.
The three steps
Verify the person
Sign up with your own email and mobile. If you own or run a business, you also verify your identity once; it is reused for every business you add.
- Your email and mobile, with a code
- Your own PAN, matched with Income Tax records
- Your ID: DigiLocker, Aadhaar e-sign or a photo ID
- Staff invited by a business only need email and mobile
Verify the business
Enter the business PAN. Satyap fetches its records at the source, so nothing is typed in or taken from a photocopy.
- PAN and name with Income Tax records
- GST registration and its status
- Company or LLP records with MCA
- Bank account in the business name, with a ₹1 payment that comes back to you
Map the ownership
Satyap records how you are connected to the business, using the right check for your role. Knowing a number, like a DIN, is never enough on its own.
- Proprietor: the same PAN, mapped automatically
- Director: your name and birth date on the company’s director list
- Partner or signatory: the deed or authority letter, reviewed by a person
- Owners holding more than 10% are recorded too
Three ways to verify your ID
Pick whichever suits you. Aadhaar is never mandatory, and an Aadhaar copy is never shared.
DigiLocker
The quickest. Your PAN and Aadhaar details come straight from DigiLocker and are matched with your PAN.
E-sign with your PAN card
You e-sign once and upload your PAN card. We match the name and birth year with the Income Tax record.
Photo ID and a short review
No Aadhaar at all: your PAN card plus a photo ID and a quick liveness check, reviewed by a person.
How ownership is mapped
Each role is checked differently, and each business can have many people mapped to it.
| Your role | How we map it |
|---|---|
| Proprietor | Your PAN is the business PAN, so the mapping is automatic. |
| Company director | Your name and birth date match the company’s director list, and your DIN is active. |
| LLP partner or firm partner | The partnership deed, reviewed by a person. |
| Authorised signatory | Your own ID verification plus the board resolution or authority letter. |
| Staff | An invite from the business. No PAN needed, and never owner powers. |
Many businesses, many people
You verify yourself once and add each business you own or run; each gets its own Satyap and its own mapping to you. A business with three partners shows all three, each verified and mapped.
Owners, staff and the primary representative
Everyone who works on a business has their own login, with powers that match their role.
Owners
Proprietors, partners, directors and signatories. They verify their ID and are mapped to the business with the check for their role.
Staff
Invited by an owner. They only need their email and mobile, and never get owner powers.
Primary representative
One named owner per business, accountable for it. Risky changes, like a new bank account or a new owner, need them, and adding an owner waits 48 hours with an alert to cancel.
Joining a business already on Satyap
A business is verified once. Other partners, directors and staff join it rather than adding it again.
- Invite from the deed: once the partnership deed is uploaded, Satyap lists the partners named in it, each with an Invite button.
- Or request to join: you see the same neutral screen whether or not the business is on Satyap, so no one can use it to find out.
- An admin can confirm you, but cannot refuse a partner alone. If they don’t know you, or don’t answer in 7 days, two people at Satyap review your claim.
- A request on its own only ever gives staff access. Owner access needs the check for your role.
And keep it current
- Business records are re-checked, and changes show with their date.
- The ownership map is re-checked when directors or partners change.
- Old results are marked as out of date, never silently kept.
